Ekiti State registers tourism practitioners

THE Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), Ekiti State Chapter, has been formally registered and recognized by Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development. This milestone event took place in a designated ceremony held at the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti on Monday, July 5, 2024. It’s aims is to enhance the state’s commitment to promoting and developing tourism within the state.
During the ceremony, Director General of Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, formally presented Certificate of Registration to the newly appointed Chairman of ATPN, Ekiti State Chapter, Dr. (Mrs.) Abigail Olagbaye. This partnership signifies a strategic move to foster collaboration among tourism practitioners and stakeholders, thereby enhancing the sector’s growth and sustainability in Ekiti State.
In his address, Ojo-Lanre expressed his enthusiasm about the registration, stating, “The establishment of Ekiti State Chapter of the ATPN is a landmark achievement for the tourism sector in our state. This association will serve as a platform for tourism practitioners to share knowledge, promote best practices, and work collaboratively towards positioning Ekiti as a premier tourism destination in Nigeria.”
Dr. Olagbaye also echoed this sentiment, as she emphasized the importance of unity among tourism professionals, saying, “Today marks a significant step forward for tourism in Ekiti State. Together, we will advocate for policies that support sustainable tourism development and showcase the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and hospitality that Ekiti has to offer.”
