The Empty Chair: 11 Years Gone – Adieu! Adieu!! Adieu!!!

By Tyna Nwachukwu

YOUR chair, once filled with warmth and light,
Now stands empty, a haunting sight.
Yet, in my heart, you’ll always stay,

Your presence still echoes in my mind,
A gentle whisper, a loving find.
Memories of laughter, tears, and sighs,
Forever etched, never to demise.

Though death has taken you away,
In dreams, I see your smiling face,
A love that time cannot erase. Guiding me through life’s uncertain way.

You may be gone, but not from me,
Your love remains, a legacy.
In every beat, my heart recalls,
The love we shared, through joy and falls.

Shadows of you linger on,
Reminding me of what’s gone.
Tears fall, yet memories remain,
A bittersweet, enduring refrain.

In silence, I hear your voice,
A gentle whisper, a heartfelt choice.
To love, to cherish, to hold tight,
Forever in the darkness of night.

You took a piece of me with you,
Leaving a void, an ache anew.
Yet, in heaven, I know you’re whole,
Watching over us, our souls.

When stars appear in the midnight sky,
I see your smile, your twinkling eye.
A celestial reminder of our love,
A love that shines, sent from above.

Grief’s heavy weight presses upon my chest,
Longing to be with you, to find rest.
But even in sorrow, I’ll hold on,
To memories of our love, now gone.

Our love will never truly die,
For in my heart, it will forever lie.
Endless, boundless, and pure of heart,
Our love will never depart.

Rest on Mcphilips till we meet to part no more. Send my greetings to Ugochukwu Adindu, your first cousin who left this wicked world on Friday, September 27, 2024. Whose sad news was a hard blow to me. Goodnight!
