‘Finding Peace’ as Jos Arts and Culture Festival holds June 19

THE vibrant city of Jos is set to come alive as the highly anticipated Jos Arts and Culture Festival (JACFEST) kicks off on June 19, 2025 and held at Sharna Place, Jos. This maiden edition promises programme line up like exciting book chats, panel discussions, books and language games, poetry slam, exhibitions, film screening, cultural performances, poetry and music night. With the theme of ‘Finding Peace’, JACFEST 2025 will bring together writers, actors, journalists, thinkers, poets, performers, cultural enthusiasts, and tourists for a 3-day extravaganza of creativity, enlightenment and entertainment.
In a statement signed by JACFEST Curator Asmau Abubakar Musa, the festival will feature live performances with top musicians, traditional dancers, and spoken-word artists gracing the stage, art exhibitions with paintings, sculptures, and crafts being displayed by various artists, book chats in which eight books have been selected for the festival, with the authors reading and signing them and workshops and panels on arts, culture, and creative industry development.
Jos Arts and Culture Festival brings together over 50 writers, poets, actors, musicians, filmmakers, journalists, artists, and thinkers to celebrate creativity, network and share stories. This year’s theme is ‘Finding Peace’. It will feature panel discussions, book chats, games, cultural performances, poetry, and music. Organized by a non-governmental organization Aurora Initiative founded in 2022, it has promoting culture and education as its core objectives.
