PRISENDA Writers Residency Initiative has expressed its strong support for strategic partnerships in academia during the recent Breakfast Academy Meeting hosted by Rivers State University. The meeting had as theme ‘Know Your Partners and Collaborators.’

In her goodwill message, writer and founder, Titi Horsfall, who was represented at the event by the Development and Partnerships Manager of Prisenda Writers Residency Initiative, Dikibugerere Edmond Maxson, commended the university’s leadership, including the Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi and the Director, Advancement and Linkages Centre, Professor N. Hudson Ukoima, for convening such a forward-thinking gathering.

“This event emphasises that meaningful partnerships are the engines of innovation, growth, and sustainable impact,” Horsfall stated in the message. “Transformation, be it academic, social, or institutional, thrives not in silos but in collaborative ecosystems rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and purposeful exchange.”

She further noted that Prisenda Writers Residency remains committed to building platforms where writers, thinkers, and scholars can grow, exchange ideas, and shape narratives that reflect the richness of society, adding that Prisenda Writers Residency Initiative looks forward to deepening its collaboration with Rivers State University to foster intellectual curiosity, creative exploration, and academic excellence.

The Breakfast Academy Meeting brought together a wide spectrum of stakeholders in academia and development. Notable guests included Dr. Amadi Amadi, who served as event chairman and the former Vice Chancellor, Professor Barineme Fakae.
