8-year old Kamsiyochukwu Anusi out with ‘Adventures Round the Shinning Egg’

A young Nigerian author, Master Kamsiyochukwu Anusi of Maryville Academy, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has published a debut collection of short stories, Adventures Round the Shining Egg by Phoenix Books, Lagos, last December, 2025. Master Anusi at eight also became Nigeria’s second youngest author after Miss Ulona James Raphael and Miss Hafeezat Adegoke. Both published at seven.

Master Kamsy is an eight years’ old Imo State-born Mary Pearl ville Academy basic four pupil in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Anusi automatically becomes Africa’s third youngest author after Cameroonian-South African, Michelle Nkamankeng who published at seven, South Africa’s Mikaya Smith, also seven, Ulona and Hafeezat from Nigeria.

Master Anusi is one of the world’s listed number six youngest under eight authors.
Kamsy’s achievement highlights the incredible heights young people can reach with support from all and sundry. His effort is a shining example to young people who still think they are too young to make history, especially to the millions of out-of- school children who may be yearning for education. This book tells them they can do it.
Anusi’s Adventures Round the Shining Egg importantly sheds light on governance, education, family, banking, environment, oil companies, relationships, etc, using his oil-rich and riverine Niger Delta region of Nigeria as telling setting, also as part of environmentally conscious campaign for internationally sanctioned best practices in oil exploitation and exploration. It tells the expectations of our young folks from our leaders.

Meanwhile, Anusi’s Adventures Round the Shinning Egg will be presented to the media on February 12, 2025 while the book launch is April 12, 2025 at the National Library of Nigeria (NLN), 2 Nyegwa Street, NTA Road, Ngbuoba, Port Harcourt.
