OUIDA relocates, plans big for literary landscape

CULTURE hub Ouida has announced plans to open its new office on Saturday, September 7, 2024 as part of plans to relocate and expand on its culture business landscape. Formerly located at 3C, Oba Dosumu Street, Isaac John, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, it has now moved to 34 Ajanaku Street, Opebi Avenue, Awuse Estate, Ikeja, Lagos.
While announcing the relocation in a mail, Digital Communications Manager, Book Buzz Foundation, Oyeshola Oloyede, said, “Ouida is excited to invite you the opening of our new cultural space which takes place at 11:40am on 7 September, 2024 at our new address. Following months of renovations and remodeling, we are back and ready to serve our customers better than ever before. Our new location symbolises a fresh start, equipped with facilities such as The Orange Tree Writers Residency, the Lagos Writing Lab, our bookstore, publishing house and Book Buzz Foundation offices, all designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and growth.”
Oloyede said the event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, followed by a tour of the new space and an Open Mic event. Refreshments will be provided, and we look forward to sharing our exciting plans for the future with you.
The Lola Shoneyin-led culture organisation has kept expanding in scope and innovative ways to establish itself as one of the leading culture hubs in Lagos. With the addition of The Orange Tree Writers Residency and Lagos Writing Lab, culture enthusiasts especially young ones will find it another home where their creative dreams can be realised. Shoneyin’s Book Buzz Foundation organises the yearly Ake Book and Art Festival that brings creatives from all over Africa to a feasts of books and art.
