Unveiling Africa Women Impact Summit 2024 as catalyst for transformation

IN an inspiring move towards enablement and transformation, the Africa Women Impact Summit (AWIS) is set to take place at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos, on November 9 — 10, 2024. This significant event, organized by the advisory board, management and co-founders of AWIS, promises to be a beacon of empowerment for African women and their diaspora counterparts.
Bringing together participants from over 30 countries, the summit aims to expand the African women’s workforce and champion their leadership across various industries. It seeks to harness the transformative power of the diaspora for Africa’s development and has as theme ‘The Africa We Want 4.0: Sustainable Leadership – Unlocking Women’s Potential.’
Some of the summit’s highlights include panel discussion on Saturday, November 9, 2024 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. WAT) and AWIS Award & Gala Night on Sunday, November 10, 2024 (5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. WAT). The pre-event activities include ‘Project EmpowerHER’ on September 14, 2024 that focuses on ‘Entrepreneurship Innovation: Maximising Productivity with Digital Tools’, with sessions on Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence and ‘Power-Up Africa Initiative’ on November 4 — 6, 2024, and aimed at bridging the gender gap in leadership and governance.
Meanwhile, the award nomination portal is open. Nomination is open for African HEroes — those leveraging networks to empower women and those breaking barriers to inspire future generations.
Past honorees include notable figures such as former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, H.E. Lady Lordina Mahama of Ghana H.E. Dr. Jewel Tylor, H.E Maryam Babangida (posthumous award). Hon Francisca Oteng-Mensah, Ghanaian Parliamentarian, Dr. Kate Quartey-Papafio, Group Chairperson, Reroy Group LT and Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Honorable Minister of State for Labour Nigeria. According to the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Africa Women Impact Summit 2024, Yvonne Ebbi and Co-founder, Africa Women Impact Summit, Dr. Itchay Odims, this year’s summit has extended invitation to delegates across Africa, with the aim of exceeding the participation of 13 countries from the 2023 edition.
