Shining bright in the dark of night
Exposing the truth, a call to action bold
A challenge to the system, a story to be told
Who would have thought a book could prick the conscience of the mighty?
How they rushed to court to silence the writer’s voice, so bright
But truth cannot be bound, it will not be tamed
It will rise like a phoenix, and its message will be reclaimed
Before you call Faro, another chorus will rise
Timi, then everywhere, the writer’s name will be told in surprise
We hear your name, Dele Farotimi, a hero of our time
A voice for the voiceless, a champion of the sublime
In Nigeria’s Augean stable, your book is a cleansing stream
A powerful voice that echoes, a call for justice to beam
May your words continue to inspire, to educate and to ignite
A beacon of hope in the darkness, shining with all your might.
