THE Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Oyo State Chapter, is set to usher in the new year with an enthralling January Literary Reading and Writers’ Dialogue, a platform dedicated to celebrating literary creativity and fostering dialogue among writers and enthusiasts. This event, the first for the year, promises to be a remarkable gathering of literary minds.
Slated for Saturday, January 25, 2025, the event is scheduled for the prestigious Prince Tunde Odunlade Arts and Culture Centre, Off Aare Avenue, Ladoke Akintola Way, New Bodija, Ibadan. The session begins at 4:00pm prompt and is open to all members of ANA, the literary community and the general public.
The highlight of this month’s event is the presence of acclaimed writer and publisher Mr. Servio Gbadamosi, who is headlining the event. Gbadamosi is the Managing Partner of Noirledge Publishing and author of two outstanding poetry collections: Where the Light Enters You (shortlisted for the 2022 PAWA Poetry Prize) and A Tributary in Servitude (winner of the Association of Nigerian Authors Poetry Prize 2015, also shortlisted for the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa in 2018).
The theme for this month’s event ‘Publishing and Creative Industries in the Downturn Economy’ is both timely and thought-provoking. With Gbadamosi leading the conversation, attendees can look forward to an engaging conversation that explores the challenges and opportunities in publishing and the creative industries amidst global and local economic challenges.
Serving as the moderator will be a seasoned broadcaster and literary enthusiast with Splash FM, Ibadan Michael Oluwashogo Olatunbosun. His wealth of experience in moderating literary conversations is expected to add depth to the dialogue, ensuring a lively and insightful session.
The event is designed to provide an interactive platform for writers, publishers and literary enthusiasts to exchange ideas, share experiences and network. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Gbadamosi, whose work continues to inspire and shape the literary landscape in Nigeria and beyond.
