Noirledge releases Servio Gbadamosi’s new poetry collection, ‘Entropy’
By Editor
NOIRLEDGE Publishing has announced the release of Entropy, the third collection of poems by award-winning Nigerian poet, and publisher, Servio Gbadamosi. A searching and emotionally resonant collection, Entropy journeys through grief, memory, faith, nationhood, spiritual longing, and the fragile architecture of human endurance.
In poems that are at once intimate and expansive, Gbadamosi confronts the silences that shape our lives, tracing the tensions between decay and renewal, loss and persistence, history and becoming. Drawing deeply from Yorùbá cosmology, African spirituality, philosophy, and oral tradition, the collection meditates on the uncertainties of the modern world while remaining fiercely attentive to the private wounds and quiet reckonings of the human spirit.
Lyrical, probing, and formally assured, Entropy invites readers into a landscape where sorrow becomes witness, language becomes survival, and every poem reaches toward meaning in the face of chaos. Across the collection, Gbadamosi transforms poetry into an act of memory, questioning, and healing, offering readers a work of unusual depth, tenderness, and enduring grace.
The collection has already drawn praise from leading writers, poets, and scholars. Award-winning poet and scholar Tade Ipadeola describes Gbadamosi as “a poet of the ineffable,” while writer and filmmaker Jude Idada calls the collection “a must-read for earthly sojourners in search of answers to the questions silence hides in the deep crevices of the heart.” Similarly, poet and scholar Tosin Gbogi notes that the collection “reasserts and reminds us of the ethical role of art in times of crisis.”
Gbadamosi is also the author of the award-winning collection A Tributary in Servitude, which won the Association of Nigerian Authors Poetry Prize in 2015 and was shortlisted for the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa in 2018. His second collection, Where the Light Enters You, was shortlisted for the ANA Poetry Prize in 2021 and the inaugural Pan African Writers Association Poetry Prize in 2022. Beyond his writing, Gbadamosi is widely regarded for his contributions to African publishing and literary culture through Noirledge Publishing, the independent publishing house he founded.
Under his leadership, Noirledge has published several critically acclaimed titles, including Boom Boom and The Road Does Not End, both winners of the Nigeria Prize for Literature. Through initiatives such as The Poems I Love podcast, Laipo magazine, the Noirledge Anthology Series, and the fast-growing Ìbàdàn Book and Arts Festival, he continues to shape important conversations around literature, identity, and the future of Africa’s cultural and creative industries.
To mark the release of Entropy collection, an afternoon of poetry and conversation with Gbadamosi will be held at the following venues on Saturday, May 23, 2026 by 2:00 PM at The Booksellers Limited, 52 Magazine Road, Jericho, Ibadan and on Saturday, June 13, 2026, by 2:00 PM at Alliance Française de Lagos (Mike Adenuga Centre), 9, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
