LTF Showcase 2024 will enchant audiences with captivating performances, say organisers

THE highly anticipated Lagos Theatre Festival (LTF) is set for spectacular showcases this March after a two-year hiatus. The 2024 edition of LTF will not only bring performing arts back in readiness for the big bang in 2025, it promises to be an immersive experience for all attendees. Despite numerous challenges in the past couple of years, LTF’s captivating performances will celebrate the richness of the arts, and underlines the festival’s commitment to diversity, cultural exploration, collaboration and strengthening of relationships between Nigerian and British artists.

Speaking about the LTF 2024 Showcase, The Artistic Director and member of the Management team, Lydia Idakula, remarked, “It’s been a challenging couple of years, but it has also been a time that we have used to grow and expand our knowledge in the sector. We remain relentless in our goals and vision to empower emerging and established artists and support them in creating impactful work that can travel and be experienced globally. We also have a renewed zeal and passion for cultural exchange and international collaborations. We are working to create platforms that enable our producers to participate in these programmes. The future looks bright as we soar to new heights, and we would love for you to journey with us.”

Lagos Theatre Festival Showcase 2024 is scheduled to hold March 2 at Freedom Park, Lagos, with a proceeding Press Night on Thursday, February 29 at the same venue. LTF Showcase 2024 will feature four productions: three from Nigeria and one from Ireland.

According to Festival Coordinator, Bukky Sanu, “This year’s showcase has been designed to ensure that a wholesome experience is curated for the audience and the participants, and the festival leaves everyone with memorable moments. We are indeed excited to return with another LTF edition after the last virtual edition in 2021.”

LTF is managed by Lagos Theatre Festival Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, run by a board of directors including Olasupo Shasore SAN (Chair), David Evans, Tosin Oshinowo, with Bikiya Graham-Douglas as the Executive Director.

Productions for LTF Showcase 2024 include Before I Let You Go by B/Rated Productions, Creamy Body by Kininso Koncepts Productions, Anatomy of a Woman by Nevan Productions all from Nigeria, and Storyteller by Niall de Burca from Ireland.
