KOKOPELLI Gallery has announced ‘Chaos, Kindly’, a dynamic group exhibition that challenges conventional ideas of order and embraces the power of spontaneity. Presented in conjunction with Lagos Gallery Weekend, this show brings together striking works that explore the beauty of the unexpected. Featuring works by Imomoh Edgar Asemokah, Chinaza Nkemka, Adubi Mydaz, and Damilare Jamiu, the exhibition will run from March 23 – April 5, 2025, at Kokopelli Gallery, 17 Ademola Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Often perceived as disruption, chaos is, in truth, an integral force of transformation. ‘Chaos, Kindly’ presents an alternative view, one where disorder is not an intrusion but an invitation. The exhibition explores the moment before structure takes form, celebrating impulse, accident, and the unexpected harmony that emerges when control is loosened. Through a diverse collection of paintings and interactive pieces, the featured artists embrace unpredictability, allowing their work to evolve organically. This results in compositions that pulse with energy, capturing the raw essence of creation itself.

Among the standout pieces, Chinaza Nkemka’s ‘Self’ embodies the vulnerability and fluidity of identity. This mixed-media portrait distorts yet deeply resonates, urging viewers to confront the shifting nature of existence. The fragmented features and expressive textures speak to the unpredictability of self-perception, echoing the exhibition’s theme of embracing the unknown.

Similarly, ‘Fire Dance’ and ‘Spirit Dance’ from the ‘Echoes from the Soul’ series by Adubi Mydaz transform movement into visual poetry. These works capture the raw intensity of love, loss, and resilience through fluid, expressive gestures that evolve into bold, cathartic revelations. Chaos is not destruction here, it is transformation, as sorrow and struggle give way to strength and acceptance. ‘Chaos, Kindly’ makes you experience unpredictability not as something to fear, but as something generous, even necessary. It asks: What if chaos is not destruction, but a collaborator?

Kokopelli Gallery invites art lovers, collectors, and the general public to engage with this exhibition, where disorder reveals its own quiet poetry.
