THE Booksellers Association of Nigeria (BAN) is set to hold its highly anticipated 2024 Training Series tomorrow, Thursday, October 17, 2024. The virtual event, focusing on “Creative, Innovative (and Aggressive) Marketing Approaches for Selling More Books,” will provide critical insights to booksellers across the country looking to scale their business operations. The training, which will be conducted via Zoom, starts promptly at 11:00am.
The BAN 2024 Training Series is designed to equip participants with modern marketing strategies, specifically tailored for the bookselling industry. This year’s edition will feature Mrs. Awele Ilusanmi, a renowned expert in book marketing and promotional strategies. Ilusanmi’s expertise in driving sales growth through innovative marketing approaches has earned her national acclaim, making her an ideal facilitator for the programme.
With a registration a modest fee payable to BAN per participant, the training promises to deliver immense value to all attendees. Ilusanmi will guide participants on cutting-edge techniques to increase sales, attract more customers, and create lasting relationships with clients. The goal is to arm booksellers with the necessary tools to thrive in the evolving digital marketplace.
The BAN 2024 Training Series aligns with the association’s broader mission of advancing the book trade in Nigeria. This event is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the skills and knowledge of booksellers, ensuring they remain competitive in today’s rapidly changing market. BAN’s Training Committee, led by Mrs. Edith Obieke, has worked diligently to ensure that the programme meets the needs of both new and seasoned booksellers.
In addition to providing marketing insights, the session will also cover effective use of digital platforms and how to leverage social media for promotional activities. Attendees will leave the session with actionable steps to implement aggressive, yet sustainable, sales techniques that will drive success in their respective businesses.
The importance of this training cannot be overemphasized, especially as the book industry faces increasing competition from digital alternatives. This event offers a timely opportunity for booksellers to adapt to current trends and continue growing their businesses despite market challenges.
