Intertwined Fate
By Ayodeji Adebanjo
INTERMINDGLED, they met on a plane beyond words,
A quiet understanding neither had rehearsed.
Not merely bodies, but histories colliding
Two separate paths, unknowingly aligning.
Their hands found meaning before their lips could speak,
A silent language, tender and unique.
In that moment, the world softened its pace,
As though time itself made room for their embrace.
On this day, unseen threads pulled tight,
Binding their souls in invisible light.
What once were strangers, distant and apart,
Now beat in rhythm, one echoing heart.
So, this night they celebrated in an ancient way,
Not out of impulse, but something deeper than sway.
A calling older than memory, steady and true,
A force that whispered, “I have been waiting for you.”
Entrenched in each other, beyond flesh and bone,
They found a feeling that felt like home.
No need for questions, no fear to defend,
Only the certainty: this is where we begin.
Above them, the stars seemed to lean in close,
As though bearing witness to what mattered most.
And when they crossed that quiet, unseen line,
The universe exhaled – declaring it divine.
Entwined, they lay in a fragile peace,
Where restless thoughts and doubts could cease.
Breathing slowly, in borrowed calm,
Wrapped in the warmth of each other’s arms.
Profound is the depth of a love like this,
Not loud or fleeting, but sealed in stillness.
Innate is the pull to create, to grow,
To build something only two hearts can know.
Once separate lives, marked by silent despair,
Loneliness lingering, heavy in the air,
Now softened by laughter, by presence, by grace,
By the simple relief of a shared space.
Their destiny, no longer a solitary line,
Now bends and curves – beautifully intertwined.
A future rewritten, no longer unknown,
But shaped by the seeds their union has sown.
Deeply immersed in what lies ahead,
In dreams unspoken, in paths to be tread,
They move without fear, without pause or regret,
Trusting a bond they cannot forget.
And though the world may rush, may pull them apart,
What’s woven this deeply lives on in the heart.
For some connections are not by chance designed
They are written in time…
And forever intertwined.
