ALL is set for the PACE Research Network (Postproverbials in African Cultural Expression), a Pan-African Humanities Research Initiative, to organise its second international conference on Post-Proverbial Studies. The programme, which has ‘Postproverbial Imagination in Contemporary African Studies’ as theme, will take place at the University of Ibadan from November 20 through 22, 2022.
The PACE Research Network is inviting submissions of abstracts for participation in the conference on the presence and activity of postproverbial studies in diverse disciplines in the humanities, the social sciences and other disciplines.
This second edition of the conference on postproverbial imagination focuses on reflections, projects and original works across the disciplines of African studies which relate and engage with the discursive strategies of the radical discourse. The interrelatedness and interconnectedness of the discourse to the various disciplines in which it has been employed is diverse but not limited to philosophy, history, literature, linguistics, sociology, psychology, cultural studies, media and performance studies.
The objective of the conference is to encourage the interrogation of postproverbial interpretations and the understanding of how postproverbial thought has become ingrained as a significant reference of radical theorising and practice in inter- and multi-disciplinary scholarships in the humanities and the social sciences.
