Sculptors’ Association of Nigeria set to hold second int’l confab, calls for papers

SCULPTORS’ Association of Nigeria (ScAN) is set to hold its second Bi-Annual International Conference and is calling for papers and workshop participation. The conference has as theme ‘Multi-Dimensionalism in Sculpture: Imperative for Socio-cultural and Technological Integration in Emerging Economies,’ and will also feature its first ever Masterclass workshop on clay sculpture with the theme ‘Mother Earth: Formal Expressions in Terra Cotta.’ The conference will hold from Wednesday, August 9 though Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State.
Among the guests and participants are the keynote speakers, Prof. Frank Agbiyoa Omoh Ugiomoh of the University of Port Harcourt, and Dr. Okey Ikenegbu of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu. The programme will also feature lead papers to be presented by Otonye Bille Ayodeji (PhD) of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, Curator of African Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Ndubisi C. Ezeluomba, and Stephen Faloranmi (PhD) of Rhodes University, South Africa.

The conference will be hosted by the Dean, Faculty of Arts, and President of ScAN, Prof. Uyoyou Nelson Edewor and the Chief Host is the Vice Chancelor, Delta State University, Abraka, Prof. Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga.
