ART lovers, collectors and cultural enthusiasts are set to experience the rich artistic legacy of acclaimed Nigerian artist Nse-Abasi Inyang as The Adeline Gallery presents ‘Enduring Creativity’, a solo exhibition showcasing works produced over more than four decades of creative practice. The exhibition, which opens on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 and runs through Sunday, 28 June 2026, at The Metropolitan Club, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, offers visitors an opportunity to explore a carefully curated collection of paintings, sculptures, assemblages and mixed-media works that chronicle Inyang’s artistic evolution and enduring commitment to creative expression.

The exhibition is described as a celebration of resilience, innovation and artistic excellence, ‘Enduring Creativity’ highlights the remarkable journey of an artist whose work has consistently bridged tradition and modernity while reflecting the complexities of Nigerian society and culture.

The exhibition is not merely a presentation of artworks but a reflection on a lifetime of creative exploration. It captures Inyang’s ability to continuously reinvent his artistic, visual language while remaining deeply connected to his cultural roots and personal experiences.

“The exhibition honours a creative journey shaped by discipline, memory, material exploration and a profound engagement with Nigerian life,” the gallery stated. “Across decades of practice, Inyang has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to experimentation and artistic growth, producing works that resonate with audiences across generations.”

The exhibition brings together pieces inspired by diverse themes, including heritage, spirituality, music, community, memory and everyday experiences. Through vibrant colours, textured surfaces and inventive compositions, the artist invites viewers to engage with narratives that celebrate both the ordinary and the extraordinary aspects of life.

A defining feature of Inyang’s work is his innovative use of materials. Throughout his career, he has embraced experimentation, often transforming found and discarded objects into compelling visual statements. This approach not only demonstrates technical ingenuity but also reflects broader themes of renewal, transformation and sustainability.

Inyang’s artistic philosophy is rooted in a desire to create works that inspire contemplation and wonder. Drawing from both traditional artistic influences and contemporary practices, he seeks to communicate ideas through a balance of colour, form and texture. His works, according to the exhibition notes, are intended to evoke a sense of mystery and emotional connection while encouraging viewers to see familiar realities from new perspectives.

The exhibition also underscores the importance of artistic endurance in an ever-changing cultural landscape. By bringing together works from different stages of his career, ‘Enduring Creativity’ offers insight into the consistency of Inyang’s vision and the ways in which his practice has adapted to new ideas, materials and social contexts over time.

Founded in 2020, The Adeline Gallery has established itself as a platform for promoting African art and culture through exhibitions, collections and educational initiatives. The gallery said the exhibition aligns with its commitment to preserving artistic heritage, fostering dialogue around contemporary African art and supporting the development of future generations of artists, scholars and collectors.

The organizers have expressed confidence that the exhibition will provide audiences with a deeper appreciation of Inyang’s contributions to the Nigerian art scene and the broader creative community. They noted that his body of work stands as a testament to the transformative power of imagination and the enduring relevance of art as a medium for cultural expression.

As visitors move through the exhibition, they will encounter a body of work that reflects not only the growth of an individual artist, but also the evolving story of Nigerian contemporary art. Through ‘Enduring Creativity,’ Mr. Inyang reaffirms his place as a significant voice in the artistic landscape, demonstrating that creativity, when nurtured with dedication and vision, can remain vibrant and impactful across generations.
