Babs Omotowa headlines Kachifo’s inaugural Leadership Book Series
By Godwin Okondo
BABS Omotowa’s From Storeroom to Boardroom will headline the maiden edition of Kachifo’s Leadership Book Series. As one of the leading fiction and memoir publishers, Kachifo Limited believes that “promoting leadership to re-educate Nigerians and to help the society regain basic competences, self-respect and humanity is an adequate revolution for a publisher to espouse.” The event is scheduled for August 1, 2022 at The Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos. Time is 10am prompt.
The trigger for the Leadership Book Series is a multiple award and finalist in the 2022 British Book Awards and bestseller on Amazon, Omotowa’s From Storeroom to Boardroom. He is currently the President of the prospective Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM), former Vice President of Shell Global Upstream and former Managing Director of Nigeria’s biggest indigenous company and the single largest private industrial complex in Sub-Sahara Africa, Nigeria LNG Limited.
According to a statement from Kachifo Ltd, signed by Gift Osiomwan, “Omotowa’s book is solid, substantiated, scholarly and fun to read. The book is a memoir written on what it takes to be on the path up career ladder, the values, attributes, and challenges. It is a repository of several key leadership lessons and it comes with a warning label for readers to prepare to be significantly more informed about Nigeria and to brace themselves for a good bit of disillusionment and outrage but also provides inspiration that positive impact is possible despite the challenges. It tackles issues most people avoid. Readers will read of many of the many intrigues at the highest levels that leaders are confronted with.”
Kachifo’s Leadership Book Series will bring some of Nigeria’s finest authors, academia, captains of industry, and leaders of public and private sectors together in Lagos to discuss the country’s most intractable challenge — the need for good leadership at all levels.
Osiomwan further said, “The event brings together distinguished and experimental leaders, providing access to significant voices and achievers for a lively discussion on everything ranging from inspirational to courageous and to corrupt leadership. It promises to be an enlightening and free flowing exchange of ideas. Promoting good leaders and leadership will re-educate Nigerians and help the society regain basic competences, values, self-respect and humanity.”
The event is coordinated by Siene Alwell-Brown with lead discussants such as Donu Kogbara and Simon Kolawole, with Prof. Pat Utomi and Mr. Waziri Adio providing assistance. The special guest of honour is the Chief or Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo. Special guests are the Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adein Ajumogobia, founder of Stanbic IBTC, Atedo Peterside, Chairman of NUTM, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah and CEO of Carveton Support Group, Chief Remi Makanjuola.
