THE Ayo Ajayi-inspired Broadway-style Musical Theatre OMG will take an innovative dimension when it hits the big screen at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in a virtual performance, as part of Nigeria’s Independence entertainment show. At the football pitch of the hotel, theatre lovers will drive in and watch an amazing show of performance in what the director, Ajayi, describes as “A proudly Nigerian Broadway-style musical. Fun! Energetic! Intriguing! Awesome! Unbeatable! Unparalleled experience!” OMG is sponsored by telecom giant MTN.
OMG story is premised on such soul-searching questions that beset a vast majority of people the world over, “Have you ever been told: this has never happened before and it’ll never happen? What would your response be? Bow to societal pressure or be the next Thomas Edison?
“OMG the Musical is the story of a woman (Gafuma) marginalised by patriarchy in her society. To discover her potential, she revisits the past where she meets such important historical and cultural Nigerian female personages such as Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Margaret Ekpo and Gambo Sawaba who help her identify her strength and the path she should follow in her journey of self-discover and fulfillment.”
Yinka Davies, J’dess, Patrick Diabuah, Hembadoon, Chioma Okafor, and Martin Chukwu make up the stellar cast of OMG. Showtime is 5pm and 8pm for the OMG Drive-In Experience, ‘Independence edition’ from the stable of Declassical Arts and Ent. Tickets available at www.declassical.com and www.ariiyatickets.com. OMG is sponsored by telecom giant MTN.
