As ANA Oyo set for Convention 2023, organisers promise literary fun

THE Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Oyo State Chapter under the chairmanship of Mr. Biola Layonu has concluded arrangements to hold its 2023 Annual Convention on October 17 – 18, 2023. It’s scheduled to hold at the Alliance Francaise, beside Magistrate Court, 7th Day Adventist Road, Iyaganku, Ibadan. Alado of Ado-Awaye, HRM Oba (Rev’d) Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi Makuledoye ll will be special convention guest as Royal Father of the Day. The event will be chaired by the publisher and former Executive Secretary, Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA). ANA Oyo 2023 Convention has as theme ‘Inflation, Creativity and Publishing in Nigeria.’

With an exciting lineup of literary exciting activities, the convention parades scholars who will serve in various capacities. They are former Director of University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre, Prof. Francis Egbokhare and author, editor, publisher and winner of ANA Children’s Literature Prize in 2018 and 2021, Jide Ogunlana. Also, Asiwaju of Adeyipo, Chief (Dr.) Bayo Adebowale, will attend as the Royal Guest of Honour, Chief Yeye Akilimali Funua Olade and Chief (Mrs.) Bukola Ladoja will be Mother of the Day.

The Chairman of ANA Oyo State Chapter, Layonu is already looking forward to warmly receiving guests to the convention. Also, the Organising Committee Chairman and Secretary respectively, Mr. Hameed Lawal and Dr. Phil Nwoko, expressed confidence that ANA Oyo Convention 2023 will make a loud statement both of literary and artistic excellence.

The convention will come to a climax on October 18, 2023, with a Convention Lunch and book presentation by the Assistant General Secretary of ANA, Mr. Freeman Okosun. All authors, literary critics, editors and lovers of literary works are encouraged to attend ANA Oyo Convention, the premier chapter that sets the pace and holds the mace of literary activities in ANA.
