Arité set to break Guinness World Record with 120-hour Singing Marathon at Freedom Park, Lagos

A historic attempt backed by industry giants and cultural icons, and a dynamic coalition of partners will see Nigerian singer and stage sensation Arité take her talent and tenacity to new heights as she prepares to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Singing Marathon. The record-setting attempt — 120 hours of continuous singing — will take place from July 1st and 6th, 2025 at Freedom Park Lagos, Lagos Island, a statement signed by Project Manager, Lucia Ikediashi, said.
The current world record stands at 105 hours, held by India’s Sunil Waghmare. After a successful 73-hour trial run in 2024, Arité is confident and ready to make history. Known for her performances on MTN Project Fame, Nigerian Idol, The Voice Nigeria and Maltina Dance All, Arite brings not only vocal stamina but an unmistakable stage presence. Her upcoming attempt is a powerful fusion of artistry and endurance — and a call to inspire millions.
At the heart of the project is cultural custodian and visionary at Freedom Park, DJ Bola Browne, before his demise on April 29, 2025. His instrumental role in championing the event made it possible for Arité to take centre-stage at one of Nigeria’s most iconic artistic landmarks.
Also, playing a key role is Madam Iyabo Aboaba, whose strategic support has been pivotal to the successful planning and execution of the historic moment. The initiative is being steered by Project Manager Lucia Ikediashi of Shimmers Services, with artistic and career oversight by Artist Manager Emmerson Ajaraonye. Together, they are leading a passionate and professional team working behind the scenes to ensure every hour counts.
Arité’s singing marathon is powered by a formidable alliance of partners, including Freedom Park Lagos, Total Consult, Shimmers Services, Industry Night, St. Nicholas Hospital and Motherland Reality TV.
