ANA holds convention, celebrates 40th anniversary at Mamman Vasta Writers Village

THE Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has set plan in motion to kick-off the 2021 International Convention, as well as the grand finale of ANA @ 40 celebration at Chinua Achebe’s House at Mpape in Abuja. The convention will be held at Mamman Vasta Writers Village from November 3 – 6, 2021. The programme, which has ‘Resilience and Nation Building: The Role of Nigerian Literature’ as theme, will feature different speakers, panelists as well as round table discussions.
The anniversary lecture will be delivered by Emeritus Prof. Femi Osofisan, while the keynote speech will be delivered by Prof. Akachi Adimorah Ezeigbo.
The panel discussion will feature topics relating to the writer’s responsibility in a distressed society, the rights of the writer, which will be powered by the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), and a discussion on the impact of The Nigerian Prize for Literature and the continental leadership role of Nigerian literature, which will be powered by Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG).
The round table discussion will feature topics such as ‘Writing as Art: Conversations with Veterans’ and other side attractions, a tour of Mamman Vasta Writers’ Village, arrival cocktail as well as a Grand Award Ceremony.
