ANA felicitates with REPRONIG Chairman Adedapo Gbadega on 61st birthday

THE Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has congratulated the Chairman of the Reproduction Rights Society of Nigeria (REPRONIG) and former President of the Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA), Chief Adedapo Gbadega, on the occasion of his 61st birthday. The congratulatory message was contained in a press statement jointly issued by the President of ANA, Dr. Usman Oladipo Akanbi, and the Acting General Secretary, Wole Adedoyin, in which the association described Gbadega as a distinguished entrepreneur, publisher and administrator who has made significant contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s literary and publishing industry.

ANA commended Gbadega for his remarkable leadership of REPRONIG and his service to the Nigerian publishing community, noting that his commitment to the protection of intellectual property and the promotion of the rights of authors and publishers has contributed immensely to the sustainability of creative endeavour in Nigeria.

The association also acknowledged his tenure as President of the Nigerian Publishers Association, where he was widely recognised for championing important reforms and initiatives aimed at strengthening the publishing industry. His leadership roles in the Nigerian Book Fair Trust and other national and international publishing bodies, ANA noted, further demonstrate his dedication to advancing the book industry and promoting a vibrant reading and publishing culture.

According to ANA, Gbadega’s influence extends beyond Nigeria, as his involvement with the International Publishers Association and other professional platforms has helped project the Nigerian and African publishing industries on the global stage. The association described his contributions to education, publishing, copyright administration and literary development as worthy of commendation.

ANA further celebrated Gbadega’s entrepreneurial journey, particularly the establishment of Rasmed Publications in 1996, which later became Accessible Publishers Ltd. From its modest beginning with a Yoruba-language publication, the company has grown into one of Nigeria’s prominent educational publishing houses, reflecting his vision, resilience and commitment to the advancement of knowledge.

The Association of Nigerian Authors wished Gbadega a joyous 61st birthday and many more years of good health, wisdom and fruitful service to humanity. ANA prayed that the new chapter of his life would bring greater accomplishments and opportunities for him to continue contributing to the development of Nigeria’s literary, publishing and creative industries.
